ABOUT JEN
Jen McDonald’s fascination with photography began at a young age. As a child, she begged her parents to let her take the family photos and when they said no, she ruined their photos by pouting in nearly all of them. Fortunately as a teen, Jen found an outlet for her camera curiosity, and landed her first gig as a photographer. Taking driver’s license photographs at an Ohio DMV, Jen’s work was carried in handbags and wallets throughout the greater Cleveland area.
Jen moved to Nashville to attend university and began sharpening her skills through photography classes and real-world experience. What had begun as a fun hobby was quickly becoming a life passion. As Jen viewed people, places and objects through the lens, she uncovered an ability to tell powerful and unique stories through photos. Working in the music, television and fashion/beauty industries in Nashville, Phoenix and New York City, Jen honed her creative eye and business savvy before launching jenm.photography in 2007.
Jen is based in Nashville but has worked on assignments all over the world. Whether she’s shooting a clients new head shot, a beautiful European destination or one of the newest restaurants in her hometown of Nashville, Jen brings fresh perspective, skillful experience and a clean aesthetic to every new project. Her work has been published in Budget Travel, Travel + Leisure, Taste of the South, domino, Nfocus, Nashville Scene, Native, Nashville Lifestyles, Virtuoso Life, and on the Anthropologie blog. Her current and past clients include Intersport Agency, HarperCollins Publishers, Vanderbilt University and DVL Seigenthaler. She’s available worldwide for commercial, editorial, and advertising jobs, as well as creative portraits and marketing campaigns.
