Nancy contacted me a few months before her December wedding and asked if I would be available to photograph it. Luckily, I still had the date open and I told her I’d love to capture her wedding day. She explained to me that it would be a very small ceremony and reception in the church hall immediately following, and she would just need me there for a few hours. She didn’t go into much detail, but she explained that her and Steve were an older couple and had both been previously married. Everything sounded great to me and so we set up the details for the day of the wedding and I showed up at West End United Methodist Church that day. I got there a little before the ceremony so I was able capture a few getting ready and detail shots.

Nancy’s father is in his 90s, and he was ready to walk his daughter down the aisle. He was so precious!

The ceremony was very sweet and heartfelt. The pastor told the story that Steve and Nancy met at a bible study they both attended at the church, and though he didn’t go into detail, it seemed they had both gone through some hard times and all of their church friends were thrilled to see them start dating and eventually get engaged to be married. Steve and Nancy were both beaming during the ceremony and afterwards, when I was able to capture these shots.

They had a short reception after the ceremony with light snacks and cake. I loved this shot of Nancy feeding Steve some of their wedding cake.

This was a simple and sweet wedding and I was so glad I got to photograph it. I wish all the happiness in the world to Steve & Nancy!
Can’t take it. Too precious.
